Trey Songz Anticipation 2 Album Review

Anticipation 2

 Trey Songz

Nov 1. 2011

    On Trey Songz’s new mixtape, “Anticipation” he gets more graphic than on his previous albums. He takes a completely different route but the same destination to take your lover to the mountain peak and make her soul jump. An excellent example is the track entitled “Bomb (a.p.)” that could score as the freakiest track that is guaranteed to even put a lack luster lover in the mood. Over a spooky, drum pattern and silvery piano, Songz works his talent as mediocre rapper but excellent vocalist to entice the female listeners. Of course, the massage is just a prelude to what he’s really after, but the gesture embodies what Songz does best –- make seduction feel honed and calculated, but not necessarily less enticing.
     He has the uncanny ability to step out of his confront zone and provide the listener with a plethora of trend setting tracks. Illustrated perfectly on the track “Girls on Girls” he attempts to give an insight of lesbian culture as he describes a woman who no longer wants relationships with men after she has been mistreated by men.  Then, he goes against the grain and drops a track similar to R. Kelly entitled “I Wish” and on his track “Top of the World” he describes the struggle incorporated with trying to prevail against odds. He goes on to say, “If he could he would bring everybody to top of the world he would”. If you’re just lounging around trying to get a quickie or setting up a romantic rendezvous this track listing definitely must be in the rotation. Trey Songz has elevated his career to soaring heights as a vocalist after first having his sights as rapper.  The Moral-- never give up, when one door closes always look for that next door to open.

2Chainz "T.R.U. Realigion" Mixape Review

T.R.U. Realigion Tity Boi aka 2Chainz DJ Drama Nov. 1. 2011 After releasing other mixtapes, 2chainz serves up a fresh batch of GA southern fried hip-hop T.R.U. Realigion. As he's been known to do, the Atlanta rapper blends street gritty-ness with banging baselines, summons some of the hottest contemporary rappers including Meek Mill, T.I., Kreayshawn, Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Big Sean, to Trey Songz and more. He invites the listener to take a walk on the Southside of the A. 2chainz knows how to entertain the streets. Even if you don’t like his rhyme scheme or his subject matter, he is still gratifying the city in his own fashion. And yes, if you need that hood talk in your diet you won’t be disappointed. I know some hip hop fundamentalist may frown upon me saying that but I see the potential. For all the critics of Tru Realigion, in the words of of Tity boi Aka 2chainz "Lame niggaz be quiet, you in the presence of a real nigga". Now that 2chainz has the streets behind him, can he transform his street appeal to mainstream appeal. Most Disappointing:You cant have an mixtape entilted T.R.U.without a No Limit Feature or a Remake. Favorite Song: Riot/Slangin Birds Least Favorite Song: Murder Download Here Rating: 3mics {1mic 2mics 3mics 4mics 5 mics classic}

Wale Ambition Album Review

Ambition
Wale
Nov. 1, 2011
Maybach Music Group
After his 2009 debut “Attention Deficit” flopped I assumed he would fade into the abyss. Instead of giving up he caught the eye of Miami Boss Rick Ross, where he transformed his style and Rick Ross added an upcoming star to MMG. Where no one else would have predicted this merger and his ambition is showcased in his first MMG album.
His work ethic is a testament of this virtue as stated in his album title. On this album, he has a bewildering guest roster along with a steady motif of catering to women. This album is unmistakably a product of the Miami Boss where Rick Ross is definitely building an empire. Wale’s persona will hit a chord with his witty lines and confident flow. You can definitely feel his D.C. Go-Go influence. On the track Legendary he say's "Fuck fame fuck money and fuck everything they can take from me I’m trying to be legendary" these lines may come true if he builds off this album. Early estimates peg Ambition's first-week sales at around 170,000. These Numbers will be somewhat of a starting point for Wale to catapult himself into hip-hop stardom. Wale with this project was a breath of fresh air for hip hop , Wale now has the DMV on his back, can he carry them to the promise land?
Favorite Song: Don’t hold your applause for me
