Wale Ambition Album Review
Ambition
Wale
Nov. 1, 2011
Maybach Music Group
After his 2009 debut “Attention Deficit” flopped I assumed he would fade into the abyss. Instead of giving up he caught the eye of Miami Boss Rick Ross, where he transformed his style and Rick Ross added an upcoming star to MMG. Where no one else would have predicted this merger and his ambition is showcased in his first MMG album.
His work ethic is a testament of this virtue as stated in his album title. On this album, he has a bewildering guest roster along with a steady motif of catering to women. This album is unmistakably a product of the Miami Boss where Rick Ross is definitely building an empire. Wale’s persona will hit a chord with his witty lines and confident flow. You can definitely feel his D.C. Go-Go influence. On the track Legendary he say's "Fuck fame fuck money and fuck everything they can take from me I’m trying to be legendary" these lines may come true if he builds off this album. Early estimates peg Ambition's first-week sales at around 170,000. These Numbers will be somewhat of a starting point for Wale to catapult himself into hip-hop stardom. Wale with this project was a breath of fresh air for hip hop , Wale now has the DMV on his back, can he carry them to the promise land?
